ILNP Park Review
Our Visit. We visited Tuzigoot as part of our 8-Park Southwest tour in March. In one day, we were able to see three ruins sites at Casa Grande Ruins NM, Tuzigoot and Montezuma Castle NM.
Our Weather. Hazy but nice–around 75 degrees
Overall Impression. Tuzigoot is a neat place to explore. What makes it so unique is the accessibility of the ruins. Visitors can walk through many of the ruins’ rooms and even climb up to the highest point to get the same vantage point as the Sinagua Indians had centuries ago.
Visiting. One hour is enough time to walk through the visitor center and the ruins. Consider combining a visit to Tuzigoot with a drive on US Alt 89 through beautiful Oak Creek Canyon in Coconino National Forest or a visit to Montezuma Castle NM.
