Love National Parks, the website for
reviews from a personal perspective on many of America's great National
Parks! What makes this site unique is all the reviews and
recommendations are first-hand accounts from me and my wife, and the
photography (all original) is indicative of what you
can achieve on a typical outing. You can also view reviews and comments
from visitors like you to help you make the most of your trip.We visit
National Parks like a typical family, mostly from the car with a few
strategic hikes, so if this is your style, you should find these pages
useful in planning your trip. I hope you enjoy your adventure with me,
my family and friends as we share the good, bad, strange and funny
while exploring some of the most equisite scenic and historic treasures
on Earth.
While we tend to think of National Parks in terms of awesome natural beauty, the National Park Service also protects hundreds of places significant for their historical or human interest. In fact, 80% of National Park Units are protected for historical and not scenic reasons. At some stages in life (young kids, challenging job, illness, etc.), it can be difficult to get away to those big, majestic national parks on your dream list, but the beauty of the National Park System is there's bound to be something near you, even if it's one of the smaller park units. The latest addition to ILNP, Harpers Ferry National Historical Park is one of those smaller parks, but it is huge in terms of the history it protects. Check out the review here, and then check out NPS.gov to see what's near you.
